Travel Insurance Now Offered At Emma Lynn Dowd Insurance Agency

(New Port Richey, FL – 1/13/25) – Emma Dowd, the CEO of Emma Lynn Dowd Insurance Agency, just contracted with Allianz Insurance to offer their customers travel insurance; further securing her goal to be a one stop shop for everyone’s insurance needs in the state of Florida.

The state of Florida is a central hub for travelers, the economy here is based on tourism.  We host major theme parks which include Universal Studios, Sea Worl and Walt Disney World in Orlando, Legoland in Winter Haven and Busch Gardens/Adventure Island in Tampa.  We have some of the most sought after beaches on both coasts of Florida.  Miami is a vacation hotspot where most of the A list celebrities and designers party and not to mention multiple sports teams like the Buccaneers, Lighting and Rays in Tampa. The Jaguars in Jacksonville. The Dolphins, Heat and Panthers in Miami and the Magic in Orlando.  We also have some of the most popular universities in the US.  Those are just some attractions that bring people to Florida.  This state also has some of the biggest ports for cruises in the country.

With so many options it was a clear choice to offer travel insurance to our customers says Dowd.  Unlike life and other types of insurance where it can only be sold by this agency in the state of Florida, as a rep for Allianz and being licensed in the state of Florida we can sell this insurance in all states except New York and Hawaii.  This truly is a win/win for the newly formed agency.

Dowd will continue to search for more options and contract with companies that offer great products that she believes in.

Mortgage Insurance is a “concept” that is designed to pay off the mortgage upon one’s death and to pay off the mortgage should one become disabled; but since it’s a concept we can add things to the policy to make it “more dynamic” for more functionality.

When you get your home you get PMI Insurance mandated into your mortgage payment.  PMI is mortgage insurance but its paid for by the mortgage holder to protect the lender.  This means if something happened to you, the benefit would be paid to the mortgage lender at the current amount owed.  Essentially PMI is decreasing term insurance so as the years go on the benefit drops because the bank can’t make a gain on the loan except what was in the mortgage contract.  PMI also cancels automatically after one accumulates 20% equity in the house as that becomes the security for the loan.

As someone buys a home, they often establish a will, because your home creates an estate.  An estate is a combination of one’s home, possessions, and investments that upon one’s death will need to be given to surviving people that the deceased individual wanted to have things.  When someone inherits the home, they are the rightful owners by gift, but that doesn’t mean it’s free and clear.  That individual named as the heir to that home must continue to make the mortgage payments in order to keep the house unless it’s paid off free and clear.  This could happen if they also get a large settlement from one’s insurance policy or investments but that is a big IF.

That is where Mortgage Insurance comes in.  We can cover the home for the term of loan (up to 30 years) for the value you purchased it for.  The beneficiary of the policy would be a family member or friend, should you pass away for them to pay off the mortgage and live in the home.  Should you pass away and they don’t want the home they can take the mortgage insurance benefits and keep them, sell the home and make a lot of money.  The benefit doesn’t decrease over time so as you pay off your home there is more money free’d up to have for the beneficiary.  We can add a rider that allows the premium to be paid up upon your disability and you can cash out that plan to pay the mortgage off.  The concept is endless.

(New Port Richey, FL – 12/18/24) – Emma Dowd, an independent  insurance agent in the State of Florida has taken one more step closer to becoming an active Insurance Agency in the State of Florida by creating her new company name “Emma Lynn Dowd Insurance” which is a D.B.A with Emma Lynn Dowd Enterprise, LLC.  The new name brought a new logo to identify her company.

This is a monumental step as the 1st of January 2025 quickly approaches, the date that her parent company officially becomes an active business in the State of Florida.  The plan is to launch the new business the first of the year, then apply to the state to become an licensed agency.  This plan is essential in her long term plan as it will allow her to bring in agents that have various insurance licenses to offer a broader line of products.

The new logo embodies Emma’s artistic side and her feminine nature while also creating a minimalist style logo.  Ones logo is one of the most important branding items a company can have, so it was important to embody Emma’s background and personality.

In September 2024 Emma became a newly licensed Insurance Agent in the State of Florida.  She managed to secure a job at a Life Insurance Agency in the Tampa Bay area that allowed her to learn the business in better detail focused on work site plans.  The road there was not easy because two days before she took her Florida Insurance License exam she faced with her family Hurricane Helene.  In an odd fashion a week later she braced for a direct hit with Hurricane Milton.

These hurricanes were the first of many obstacles that tried to stand in the way of her success in this new field but in doing so it planted the seed for her future, she just didn’t know it.  The hurricanes were only a tiny struggle compared to how she fought to be able to sell the insurance she was hired to do.

Finally the day before Halloween, she decided to officially leave the agency she was at and became a GA for herself.  November 1 she launched Emma Lynn Dowd Enterprise, LLC which is the parent company of Emma Lynn Dowd Insurance.  She chose to work for herself after working with a broker company that allows her to write for over 80 top rated companies in the world.  This broker firm added value to individual and group insurance and living benefit plans as they allowed annuities and other retirement planning solutions.

She sells primarily out of the Tampa Bay area, but she essentially covers the entire state of Florida.

Emma also does public speaking, life coaching and is a mobile notary.

(Tampa, FL – 10/26/23). October 26th is the official day of Intersex recognition around the world; which makes it fitting that the city of Stamford, CT had the states first Intersex Flag Raising Ceremony, and honor Emma Dowd in a new tradition.

Emma was born in Bristol Connecticut November 1, 1978. A new Connecticut native that would start her life with complications. Emma was born Intersex, 46 XX CAH to be exact. Emma was raised as a male by her family until she found out the truth in 1996, her junior year of high school. She would continue to live as a man despite the diagnosis and took testosterone to ensure it. However in 2019 a hit to the head would shake up her puberty gland and cut off her over production of testosterone allowing her true gender take over.

On the national intersex recognition day, the city of Stamford, CT decided to officially recognize the day with an intersex flag raising ceremony. Stamford became the first city and state to honor it over the official buildings. Mayor Caroline Simmons presided over the ceremony and recognized Emma on a video, and welcomed her Connecticut heritage. In turn, Emma became the first honoree in the state of Connecticut; fitting since her family which goes back to the late 1600s, established other cities like Guilford and took leadership roles there and statewide. Now she joins the tradition of making Connecticut history her family started 300 plus years prior.

I grew up reading about my family on the Dowd side and their contributions to the state and cities throughout the colony till the statehood of Connecticut. Knowing I could never fight for the United States to honor that legacy (health reasons), I never thought I could contribute to the states history – living in Florida didn’t help. Then this amazing opportunity came about and I found out I’m the first. It’s a complete HONOR to be recognized by my state and be a part of the states history – joining my ancestors who pioneered before me. It’s incredibly emotional and tears of joy flowed down my cheeks today. Thank you Mayor Simmons for this amazing opportunity, and to represent a condition we didn’t choose to have and help dissolve the stigma behind it.

Emma Dowd

After, Emma spoke on a training video series for the employees of NBC Uni on diversity, she represented the intersex part of the LGBTQ – an experience she’ll never forget.
