Public Service

I love volunteering throughout the communities, especially when that volunteering educates and entertains.  One of those places for me is the May-Stringer Museum in downtown Brooksville.  I started as a docent here on Jan 7, 2022.  I had always been fascinated with the house, especially it’s creepy side but in awe of its Victorian beauty seen throughout the architecture.  Volunteering here allowed for some special growth not only as a docent but as a person.

In October of 2023 with a special election Emma was elected to the HHMA Board of Directors (Hernando Historical Museum Association).  The HHMA incorporates three museums,  the May-Stringer, the 1885 Train Depot and the Countryman One Room School House.  All three depict how life was like for Brooksville in the 1850s.  In December she was voted back on the board till 2026.

In December of that year she was picked to be the new Volunteer Coordinator.  Her job is to maintain the schedules of all the museum’s volunteers, aid in staffing special events, recruit and onboard new volunteers for all three museums, train the volunteers and to organize certain events.  It’s a job that she loves with all her heart and it had a profound impact on her in her professional life.

Networking

Networking and community outreach is essential in my business plan.  I understand how important it is to network with other groups and businesses inside our community so that we can grow professionally and socially.  Understanding what makes us the community we are is the first step to having a successful business.  If we help each other we all grow.  As an experiment I went around my town, on one street.  The goal was to observe the businesses, parks and developments we had in that section of town.  I was shocked to see businesses I didn’t even know existed.  Now if we work together we can insure this isn’t as common as it tends to be.

I am open to networking with any company that holds the same values and ethics I have with my business.  I will gladly refer people to businesses that I know will do a fantastic job or sell high quality services and products.  I will happily volunteer at fundraising events that benefit things that I find to be valuable.  If we work together nothing can stop us!  I will ALWAYS advocate for pet adoption, stopping animal abuse, and causes that support Multiple Sclerosis research and treatments.
